Trinidad

      Spend your Cuba holidays on a cultural immersion tour and visit one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in the process when you take the time to sightsee and explore the wonderful town of Trinidad in the province of Sancti Spiritus in Central Cuba. Touted as a city cum museum, this historic town traces its founding history over 500 years ago when it was founded by Diego Velasquez de Cuellar in Dec 23, 1514. This tiny city largely reflects the influence of colonization left by Spain evident in Spanish colonial architecture of sturdy colonial era houses, various museums and eclectic collection of churches and chapels.
      Trinidad is a City - Museum since all houses and churches had been constructed on the beginning of 18 and 19 centure. Over a hundred years this sity was isolated from the rest of the island, because of this reason houses and streets remained preserved.

Trinidad       Trinidad is a city on the island Cuba, close to the coast of Caribbean sea. Population of about 73 thousands of people.

      It was founded in 1514 by an order of conquistador Diego Velazquez.

      This is on of the oldest citys in the country, as evidenced by numerous buildings built in colonial period. Because of its architecture trinidad was called UNESCO as a city of world mankind heritage. Main attractions of Trinidad can be seen near of main square. Also among the tourists Trinidad is called as a city of museums for a lot of beautiful and interesting museums there. Here you can see a historical museum, archaeological, museum of natural sciences of Humboldt and even a Romantic museum.

      Trinidad isn't connected to the rest of the Cuba by a railroad tracks since the storm in 1992 had destroyed the bridge. Railway communication is carried out only to the valley of sugar factory. Daily a train departure from Trinidad to Meyer with stops in Iznaga and Candado. Return train is departing from Meyer after a few hours so you can spent few hours admiring the valley of sugar factory.

      On its suburbs had remained ruins of old sugar factory of 19 centure, where can be seen huge boilers and millstones. Northen then Trinidad had stretched Escambray mountains. In this mountains on a high of 800 meters had been constructed National parc for protection plants and animals. The park is called Topes de Collantes. The area of the parc is 200 km.sq. There are lots of hiking trails, which pass through a mountains, picturesque valleys, waterfalls and rivers.

      Not far away from the city there are two beaches- Maria Aguiler and Ankon. They are on the peninsula Ankon which is 12 kilometers south - west of Trinidad. There you could find more then twenty dive centers. Diving here attract people for its amazing divercity of sea habitats and beautiful corals. Among them there are black corals wich construct reefs on a high more then five meters. You can see lots of different sponges, clams and tropical fish.

      There are different ways how to get to the Trinindad. On a distance of one kilometer from Trinindad there is an Airport Alberto Dalgado. From the airport the the bay you can take a taxi. It will cost you approximately 15 euro. From the bay to the city Sankti - Spiritus add aproximately plus 4 euro. Also for sight seing you can rent a bike. It will cost you approximately 19 euro daily.
