   Currency
From 2005 Cuba has its own currency called PESO or CUC. Before 2005 American Dollar had been main currency, but now you can change 1 Cuban Converted Peso = to 0.79 Euro or 1 Dollar.

   Time
Cuban time zone is - 5 what mean that, for example, difference with Tokyo is 10 hours, with New York - no difference, with Moscow - 8 hours, London - 5 hours and Hon Hong - 13 hours.

   Climate
Climate of Cuba is temperate tropical, greatly softened with warm ocean currents. Maximal temperature +35C can be in August. Minimal temp. falls to the level of 19C. Temperature of water during the whole year subjects to less change. At the north coast it hesitates from 23C on Winter to 29C on Summer. At south coast from 25C in winter to 28C in Summer.
Separation on dry and rainy seasons is quite conditional. Tropical dry season runs from November to April, rainy - from may to October. But at the same time in March could be strong tropical rain. While in July till September could be dry sunny weather.
Main discomforts arise in Autumn in so called season of tornados. It lasts from October to November. But at the same time tornados on Cuba are quite infrequent and rare they come to the same time at the same place twice. So that prospects of good weather in Autumn is quite high, and chance to get in the area of storm is quite small.

   Airport TAX.
When departing from the country you have to pay 20 Peso as airport tax.

   Electricity
On Cuba voltage in plug is - 110 V. Plugs and sockets don't match European standards - is needed adapter, which better you'd bring with you. In many modern Hotels current is 220 V.

   Medicine
We recommend you to take with you all necessary medicines from home. At critical situations medical assistance would be provided in special hospital in Varadero. This hospital is specially intended only for tourists. Emergency medicine assistance, first aid and first visit of clinic are free. Hospital for foreign tourists is open for 24 hours in every day. The telephone number of Hospital is 6-21-22. Drug store: 6-27-72, 6-26-36. Dental clinic 6-27-67.
P.S. Please don't drink water from tap if there aren't special instructions in Hotel.

   Shops
As for souvenirs and gifts, certainly, best of all, to buy black coral and different jewelry from it. Especially good they look with silver. Either good souvenirs are from tortoise shell especially bracelets and pins. Almost nobody would leave without buying one - two bottles of Cuban rum. Not to mentioned about Cuban Cigars. While buying things from crocodile skin ask for license on export, otherwise it would be withdrawn while passage through custom control. Certain licenses are issued, as a rule, only in shops, on the markets products from crocodile skin costs three, four times less, however license are not issued. Foodstuff is recommended to be bought in supermarkets.

   Transport facility
In many places you can rent a car. The quality and rank of cars varies: from 4 wheels drive jeeps to old motorbikes or also bikes. The price of rent is approximately 30USD per day, plus price of petrol which cost almost two times greater than in European Countries. This is because of trade embargo posed by USA. Relationship among local police and tourists are quite friendly. There are two different types of taxi on Cuba. Some of them are familiar on European cars and another one drive on old Russian cars. I would recommend you to try the next one because of two reasons: first they are at least two times cheaper and another to drop fully in Cuban live.
